How Do You Wear Your Faith?

The owners of Simply Bliss Boutique are committed to creating clothing that is modest and affordable, but their shop is about so much more than the clothes. They are all about sharing the message that women are beautiful, modesty is desirable, and faith is wearable. Their mission statement is straight out of the Bible! I’m obsessed with all the amazing boutique clothing stores that are creating faith based jewelry and clothing.

There’s nothing like waking up and choosing your outfit based on what message you feel like wearing that day.

A few of my favorite t-shirt messages are:

“A Little Bit of Coffee & a Whole Lot of Jesus”

“Don’t Give Up – Galatians 6:9”

“Love hard. Tell the truth. Show Grace. Say your prayers. Surrender.”

Oh, and I also love wearing the occasional secular quote, especially the one my Sister-in-Love special ordered me for my birthday this year:

“I never imagined I’d grow up to be a super sexy chicken lady, but here I am killing it.”

Yep, that one always makes me smile!

And I like to think my 26 hens and King Tut (our rooster) like it too.

But let’s not get off track…because this blog post is all about wearing our faith.

I’ve found a clothing company that I’m super excited to share with you because they mix faith and fashion in such a beautiful way.

The Simply Bliss mission statement is straight out of the Bible:

I love the style of their complete clothing line, but was especially drawn to their newest t-shirt design.

It’s like they read my mind and combined my 5 favorite life statements into one item of clothing.

When I pull this soft Simply Bliss t-shirt out of my drawer and pair it with my favorite skinny jeans and clunky boots, I’m reminded of the importance of wearing my faith each and every day.

Matthew 5:16 says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

I am  a lover of words, but it’s our actions that speak the loudest.

So let’s put our faith into action, and live the truth of these beautiful words today.

Love hard.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” -John 13:34-35

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” -Romans 12:10

Tell the truth.

“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” -1 John 3:18

“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” -Ephesians 4:15

Show Grace.

“Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.” -Galatians 6:1-2

“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” -Ephesians 4:31-12

Say your prayers.

Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. -John 14:13-14

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” -Matthew 26:41

Surrender.

“Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.” -Romans 12:1

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. “For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” -Matthew 16:24-25

  1. Proverbs 31:25
    That is my life verse
I do have this tattooed on me, but it has more than just a life quote meaning. My grandmother loved this verse. My husband even quoted it when he proposed to me. There is nothing more lovely than a virtuous woman.

  2. Thanks so much for sharing this, Sarah. I was unfamiliar with their site. I love it!! Rev and I talked about starting a Christian clothing company years ago. I’m so glad to see those who have gone ahead and gotten the job done! And their clothes are soooo cute!

  3. That’s neat that there’s a clothing company that’s centered on Christ and the message He wants us to spread, Sarah. I love that t-shirt you’re wearing. 🙂 I’m visiting from Lori’s. Blessings to you!

  4. I love this post Sarah! First, you’re beautiful as always. Second, I love to wear my faith so I completely agree with you.
Mine would be something along the line of “Redeemed by grace” since that’s exactly how I feel every day. Excited to check out their website.

  5. What CUTE clothes! And girl… you should be a clothes model. Love the pictures. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Simply Bliss. I may have added a few of their shirts to my Christmas wish list. 😉 I would love any form of Psalm 91 in t-shirt form!

    1. You are waaaay too sweet! I love Psalm 91. Maybe a T-shirt with “Dwelling in the Shelter of the Most High” or “The Lord is My Refuge” on the front. How great would that be?

  6. So I’ve been on the hunt for items to recommend to my husband for Christmas gifts… His request. And, this my friend, is rocking! New items for my list!!! 🙂

  7. Matthew 5:16
I have “shine” tattooed on my wrist….a daily reminder to let Christ’s light shine through me so others may see Him.

    1. Matthew 5:16, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

      Love that verse!

    1. Oh, that’s a great verse! And I bet you read the Tolkien books, didn’t you? I didn’t even know it was a trilogy until I got to the closing credits of the first movie. I was in college at the time and SOOOOOOO mad I had to wait 2 years to find out what happened. Yes, I know….I could have read the books! But I didn’t 😉

  8. In agreement with the above post. I would love to have a shirt which said “Let your light shine”

    1. I found out about the company through Stephanie from Blog About (which is part of The Blythe Daniel’s Agency). I guess that they met one another at the Declare Conference. I’ve heard such great things about that conference….maybe we should go next year!

  9. I absolutely adore that shirt. Beautiful message. Praying that Simply Bliss does well in business and continues to spread God’s inspiring truths to many.

  10. I think this is a great way to show people your faith. I think for me its all about God’s grace and mercy towards me which I don’t deserve.

  11. I love this shop! Thank you for introducing me to it.

My quote would be “Reclaimed Life”. After nearly 20 years, God is returning my health and in turn, my life back to me.

  12. I would put something like Proverbs about Trusting the Lord or another idea is Fruit of the Spirit. I love coffee one that they have too:)

  13. “A Little Bit of Coffee & a Whole Lot of Jesus” I have this in a mug! And I love wearing faith shirts now too! This looks like a great company.

  14. What a neat boutique! One of my favorite verses is Proverbs 3:5-6. I also think it would be cool to have a shirt that incorporated the words God gave to me each year for three years: Believe, Humility, Follow. After that third year, I felt like they should all go together somehow. And it came to me: Believe in humility and follow. It was like a specific message just for me! It’s always such a blessing when God gives personal messages to his children. 🙂 Thanks for linking up with Literacy Musing Mondays!

  15. Thank you for sharing this information with us, and can’t wait to browse around. I’m always looking for unique gifts to give to family and friends. I’m glad I found you through Grace and Truth link-up! I’m doing an “Abide” series and I would love to see a tee on that. “ABIDE WITH THE MOST HIGH” – Psalm 91 – John 15:10 1John 2:6 etc. Many blessings!!

  16. If you were given the opportunity to create your own t-shirt, what quote or scripture would you incorporate into your design?

IT would for sure be Isaiah 26:3 :: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

  17. Wonderful giveaway and site! I have so many and love the ones that have been mentioned! So how about…….
    I love you Jesus

  18. Sarah,
I love the t-shirt and I love your recent post about getting your “mojo” back. Yes, you have your own path to follow and you have your own style…when we try to follow someone else’s style we inevitably go down paths leading to nowhere. You are unique – ask God to guide you in YOUR journey and your writing style. That way you are being true to how God created you.
Blessings and all the best in your writing…
    Bev xx
